The Mendip Hills have much to offer the visitor, with numerous sites of interest for both the casual visitor and those with a passion for geology, botany and archaeology. A wide variety of sites worthy of a visit are spread across the entire region ranging from the dramatic cliffs of Cheddar Gorge, to the heather-clad uplands of Blackdown; from the shaded glades of Asham Wood to the spectacular geological unconformity at Vallis Vale.
