Azarga Metals Corp — Canadian based company active in gold and uranium exploration and development in Slovakia.

Barrick Gold Corporation — Leading international gold company with operating mines and development projects in several countries. Listed on the LSE.

Bisichi Mining plc — UK company whose principle interest is operating a South African coal mine.

Beowolf Mining plc— Formerly Beowolf Gold plc. This AIM listed UK-based company is wholly focused on copper and gold prospects in Sweden. The Unst platinum prospect has been sold to Agricola Resources.

BHP Billiton — World's largest diversified resources company.  It has major resources and production of aluminium, energy coal and metallurgical coal, copper, ferro-alloys, iron ore and titanium minerals, and has substantial interests in oil, gas, liquefied natural gas, nickel, diamonds and silver. Listed on the LSE and several other stock exchanges.

Caledonia Mining Corporation — A Canadian-based mining company with interests in South Africa, Zambia and Canada It manages the dormant Cononish gold prospect in Scotland.

Cambridge Mineral Resources plc — UK-based company carrying out gold and base metal exploration in Spain, South America and Central Europe. AIM listed.

Centamin plc — Gold and base metals explorer operating in Egypt. AIM listed.

Cleveland Cliffs Inc. — Formerly Cliffs Natural ResourcesThe largest and oldest independent iron ore mining company in the United States.

Conroy Gold and Natural Resources — This AIM listed Irish company is exploring for gold in the Longford-Down Massif of Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. It also has exploration interests for diamonds, gold and other minerals in Finland.

Durban Roodepoort Deep Limited (DRDGold) — Mainly a gold producer, based in South Africa, with substantial operations in that South Africa, Papua New Guinea and Fiji. LSE listed.

Etablissements Gallois S.A. — based in Madagascar this is the longest running graphite mine in Africa.

Eurasia Mining plc — International mineral exploration company, listed on the AIM. Exploring for the platinum group of metals (PGMs) and gold, currently operating in Russia.

Firestone Diamonds plc — UK-based international diamond mining and exploration company with operations in the Namaqualand region of South Africa and Botswana. AIM-listed.

First Quantum Minerals Ltd — Mining and metals company listed on the AIM. Principal activities include mineral exploration, development and mining in the copper and cobalt sectors in Africa.

Galántas Gold Corporation — Formerly European Gold Resources Inc. Canadian-based company, which is developing the Omagh gold deposit in Northern Ireland. Listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

Glencore — Major international natural resources group based in Switzerland and listed on the Swiss and London stock exchanges. It has a significant market share in export thermal coal, copper, zinc and primary vanadium production and a leading market share in ferrochrome production.

Gold Fields Limited — One of the world's largest precious metals producers, with operations in South Africa, Australia and Ghana, and gold and platinum group metals exploration projects worldwide. The company was formed in 1998 through the combination of the gold assets of Gold Fields of South Africa Limited and Gencor Limited. Ordinary shares are listed on the London Stock Exchange.

Griffin Mining Limited — Mining development and investment company. Its principal project is the Caijiaying zinc-gold project in the Peoples Republic of China. AIM-listed.

Harmony Gold — Major gold mining company with the bulk of production from South Africa and with interests in Australia and Papua New Guinea. It trades on several stock markets including the LSE.

Impala Platinum Holdings Limited (Implats) — Currently produces 29% of world platinum supply from its South African mines, together with associated platinum group metals, nickel, copper and cobalt. While its primary listing is on the Johannesburg Securities Exchange, it has a secondary listing on the LSE.

Kenmare Resources plc — A mining and minerals exploration company based in Ireland. Its main assets are in Mozambique, where it currently owns 100% of the Moma Titanium Minerals Project. It is listed on the LSE.

KGHM Polska Miedz S.A. — One of the largest companies in the world involved in the production of refined copper and silver. Listed on the LSE. Owns and operates three major copper mining areas in the Lubin area of Poland.

Lundin Mining — Formerly Arcon International Resources plc. Base metals mining company with operations in Portugal, Spain, Sweden and the DRC. The Company currently has four mines in operation producing copper, cobalt, nickel, lead and zinc.

Metorex Limited — Independent mid-tier South African mining company with operations in South Africa and Zambia. Current activity is in copper, antimony, and coal, cobalt, fluorspar and gold. Listed on the LSE.

Petra Diamonds Limited — Specialises in the exploration and exploitation of gem quality diamond deposits in Africa. Operator of six diamond mines, five in South Africa and one in Tanzania. Listed on the AIM of the LSE.

PT Antam Tbk — Indonesian company undertaking all stages of the mining process from exploration, mining, smelting, and refining through to marketing. Main products are ferronickel, nickel ore, gold, silver and bauxite.

Rio Tinto — UK-based, is one of the worlds leading mining companies. It operates on every continent and owns some of the world's largest and most productive mines. Major products include aluminium, copper, diamonds, energy products (coal and uranium), gold, industrial minerals (borax, titanium dioxide, salt, talc and zircon), and iron ore.

St Barbara Mines Limited — Australian gold producer and mineral explorer based in Perth, Western Australia and listed on the AIM.

Syrah Resources — owns and operates Balama graphite mine in Mozambique which has the largest graphite resources in the world.

Tertiary Minerals plc — This UK-based and AIM-listed company, is engaged in exploration and development of gold, base metal, tantalum, diamond and platinum group metal projects in Scandinavia and Saudi Arabia.
