Data sources
BGS has a number of national and international minerals-related databases, which are relevant to the general public, the minerals industry, government and academia. These databases are an important source of information for:
- discovery of new resources
- exploitation of existing deposits
- sustainability
- mineral planning
- environmental issues
- public awareness
- academic research
