Caledonia Mining Corporation — A Canadian-based mining company with interests in South Africa, Zambia and Canada It manages the dormant Cononish gold prospect in Scotland.

Cambridge Mineral Resources plc — UK-based company carrying out gold and base metal exploration in Spain, South America and Central Europe. AIM listed.

Centamin plc — Gold and base metals explorer operating in Egypt. AIM listed.

Etablissements Gallois S.A. — based in Madagascar this is the longest running graphite mine in Africa.

Eurasia Mining plc — International mineral exploration company, listed on the AIM. Exploring for the platinum group of metals (PGMs) and gold, currently operating in Russia.

Firestone Diamonds plc — UK-based international diamond mining and exploration company with operations in the Namaqualand region of South Africa and Botswana. AIM-listed.

First Quantum Minerals Ltd — Mining and metals company listed on the AIM. Principal activities include mineral exploration, development and mining in the copper and cobalt sectors in Africa.

Galántas Gold Corporation — Formerly European Gold Resources Inc. Canadian-based company, which is developing the Omagh gold deposit in Northern Ireland. Listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

Glencore — Major international natural resources group based in Switzerland and listed on the Swiss and London stock exchanges. It has a significant market share in export thermal coal, copper, zinc and primary vanadium production and a leading market share in ferrochrome production.

Gold Fields Limited — One of the world's largest precious metals producers, with operations in South Africa, Australia and Ghana, and gold and platinum group metals exploration projects worldwide. The company was formed in 1998 through the combination of the gold assets of Gold Fields of South Africa Limited and Gencor Limited. Ordinary shares are listed on the London Stock Exchange.

Impala Platinum Holdings Limited (Implats) — Currently produces 29% of world platinum supply from its South African mines, together with associated platinum group metals, nickel, copper and cobalt.
